Di Matteo Considering Brazilian?

So, with Florent Malouda alleged to be considering a January move having spent some time with our under 21s, Chelsea are rumoured to be interested in Corinthians midfielder Paulinho.

At 24, Paulinho, currently vies with Ramires as Brazil’s defensive midfielder and Di Matteo is apparently interested in adding him to our current Brazilian contingent of Oscar, Ramires, David Luiz and Lucas Piazon as well.

So, here’s a look at him:

  1. We need Falcao or Neymar up front before diffensive. for diffensive I think Fellani is the best because he is a utility player.

  2. Felaini is attacking midfilder not defensive! we need a natural striker, Toress not in form so far! he is not the one we used to know since he is playing atrectico madrid and liverpool, we need falcco or a more creative player like Neymar who can utilise Toress, having o board upfron player like matta, oscar, hazard, Neymar Toress can do better. we should arrange to use Romeu just for emmergency, what if Mikel get injured?romeu so far have not given enough minutes on the pitch, are still waiting till things will be worse to our holding midfilders?

  6. please di matteo try to buy falcao in jaunry and neymar in the summer. Plaese do it

  7. First thing first, the spelling within the comments is atrocious.

Second, Fellaini has played as a defensive midfielder before for Everton, more times than an attacking one might I add, and regularly plays in that position internationally.

Thirdly to say Torres isn’t in form is ridiculous, he’s been putting the ball in the net and that’s all you can ask from a striker however if we want to compete on all levels, then we need a striker like Falcao or Cavani, this I agree with.

The same names keep popping up, Neymar, Falcao, Willian, etc. I however feel that in depth (apart from the striker position) we’re more than adequate to put in a good fight for the title this season and save some money rather than spending out on there “big name” signings. If you take a look at the defensive midfield position, Romeu is more than capable of coming into the team however I feel we’re holding him back, maybe due to the clause in his contract where Barcelona can buy him back for a fee within the next 2 years.

If we’re looking for a defensive mid, then I would rather have someone like Fernando, Fellaini or M’Vila (although he could demand a fee of up to £20mil), ultimately though it’s proven that we’ll never be able to replace the little French genius of Makele.

  8. please ooooo!!!!! RDM BUY FALCAO 4 us and learn how to use ROMEO he is far better mikel, AMEN.

  9. We dnt need fellani,we need player in midfield that are more creative, players like silver, carzola, fabregas, xavi.not FELLANI

  10. We dnt need fellani,we need player in midfield that are more creative, players with super passes like of silver, carzola, fabregas, xavi.not FELLANI,but we must get NEYMAR and FALCAO

  11. please, Roberto Di Mateo , let’s buy fellani from everton and let Palicho be am options should incase, Moyes fails to sell it to us.. But, I will prefer fellani. He’s more premiership player than the Brazilian who will still nedd time to adapt.. And we need Neyma or falcao come January .. And let’s go into seria for good defenders and young midfielders…

  12. I would love to see Falcao join but it makes little sense. Falcao is 27 in Feb. So he would have just 3 years with us before 1 year contracts are inforced like we have with Lampard and co. 46M is too much for a 3 year deal; thats 15.3M per year. Neymar is just 20 and would probably come at around 40M and give 10 years service; thats 4M per year. A big difference and important if what I understand of FFP is correct: that a players cost is spread over the years he plays for the club. This is probably one of the reasons CFC is now investing in young players. The other reason would be the need for a team to have the years to cement into a affective unit. Someone like Neymar or Schurrle (21) would have the benefit of growing with guys like Oscar, Hazard, Moses, and Piazon. In short; Falcao is short term big spending, but Neymar or Schurrle is long term benefit.

  13. I always see these comments saying that we “need” Neymar or Falcao but I have no idea why no Chelsea fans stand behind Sturridge? This guy is a talented YOUNG striker and in the AVB-era he proved himself! With a team that had Drogba and Torres, he was still able to net 9 goals in 8 matchs! That itself is an achievement and a glimpse of what he could be! I think buying Falcao and selling Sturridge is the wrong way to go, firstly there’s no guarantee that Falcao could make it in the EPL (remember Shevchenko?) and Secondly why spend so much money for a 26 year old striker?!?! Thirdly, If Abromovich wants a young squad then I don’t think Falcao(who’s 27) is the right choice while Sturridge(24 I think?) Is! For all you people saying he’s not good enough, just remember he wasn’t playing in his preferred position and we all know that makes a huge difference(look at Mata, being brought back to attacking midfield its like hes totally different)

  14. I can’t agree more with the last comment. Sturridge was probably one of our best players in the first half of last season. Every one says he’s greedy, but you where all saying that while he (a striker) was playing on the wing… Give him the chance and he WILL score.

  15. Wat makes you guys think Falcao cant play until his is in his late 30s? People said the same thing about Drogba but is still a beast and he keeps firing even caused senegal heartache which led to pandamonium at the stadium frm senegal fans! Its quite obvious then that if we sign a prolific scorer lyk falcao it wud be on a long contract! Van Persie is another example on how u get better with age so these arguments of how falcao is old dont hold no weight!!! As for sturidge he was given an option to extend his stay but declined thats y is up for sale…i highly regard him as one the best talents but if he aint willing to slug it out then sell him and bring in the Colombian HitMen!!!!!!!!!

  16. Finally someone who understands! Thank you kind sir! I only hope we are heard!

  17. Pls sir roberto sign falcoa or neymer to our brasilian contigents it will be a perfect development to our attacking up blues long live chelsea and its fans

  18. Somtimes I wonder how some Chelsea fans thinks, Buy! Buy!! Buy!!! No one thinks of selling at all. For me Abramovich is jst a little bit confused. He wants to invest in young players yet He still want to buy 27-28 year old players. Well thats what you see from a One Man business

  19. Paulinho has some good goals here, but to me I can’t tell if he finds the ball or the ball finds him. Most of his goals seem like he’s in the right place at the right time. As a blues fan since 1992 I think Torres should be sit for a game or two and let Victor Moses get some playing time.
