The Price To Be Paid For Being Ashley Cole?

So, no ban imposed but Ashley Cole has been fined £90,000 for tweeting his opinion on the FA bods calling him a liar.

He apparently ‘escaped’ a ban because he personally apologised to FA chairman David Bernstein, who felt Cole “showed real remorse”.  It’s the largest ever fine the FA have dished out in relation to social media ad comes shortly after he was dropped for what would have been his 99th England cap against San Marino.

Strange then that a ‘choc-ice’ tweet carries only a £45,000 fine given the connotation?

  1. As i have stated previously, i believe that there is a witchhunt against the likes of Cole and Terry. This can only come down to how much the media influence the modern game, it almost seems that the papers and co are the puppet masters in anything worth writing about.

Before anyone yells bias, i am in no doubt that other players get this treatment also, suarez is the name that first jumps to mind. It seems that any player that has had a scandal about them before jumps straight to the front of the cue regarding press coverage.

Would the john terry case have been so massive if it wasnt for a ALLEGED affair, which frankly is no ones business? I think not.

However saying all this, people seem to forget rio ferdinands clumsy memory when it comes to drugs tests. Bizzare ….

Oh wait, he plays for manchester united.
