Sham - would you like to give me the quote where I said he isn't loyal?
That's not to say I don't think he has too much influence at the club because I do. I don't think its healthy for a club to have any player there that they'd be too afraid to sell for any reason. Whilst its always a good thing to have long-term players committed to a club, I certainly don't hold with the idea that any player is bigger than the club.

kev there is no loyalty in football look at fat frank, cashly, joe cole they all moved for 1 thing, money. ok you have a point with MIGHT break the top 4 but why begruge a team that's been the laughing stock of football for years. kev if somebody was going to more than double your wages would you go? JT is a fantastic player and captain for chelsea but he's got a decision to make. good luck this season because city won't win the prem.

to finally get some perspective in Chelsea would be a great thing, however this plays out the club wins now and that really is the most important thing for Chelsea to show that they are above players and coaches, that Chelsea is something more than all of that. And i completely agree that its time for a coach to come in just shut everyone up, if this is really Ancelotti forcing JT's hand I would assume that same thing will happen with Drogba if he start to flip again.

As far as Ashley Cole goes, if the what is left is an argument over 30 thousand pounds then i hope we keep him. He is in an important part of the team and should be payed accordingly. His comments seem to suggest that he isn't really trying to blackmail the club he just wants a pay package that reflects his standing as one of the best if not the best LB in the game. Like it or not how much these players get payed adds to their celebrity which adds to all their other business ventures. Lampard is a great player but the fact that he became the highest payed player in the league for a while really elevated his status in a way that his playing hadn't done before.

Final note I really want to hear what Deco has to say now that even though the price is almost bargain basement of 14 mil for him and Carvalho, Inter are not accepting the deal. 14 mil for a world class defender and well whatever Deco is these days seems to be fair. Specially in a market where 45 mil for a single CB is proposed.

Jo The operative word in your post is might, they might break into the top 4,if they do I,ll be happy for them and give them the respect due but until then its just hot air and big talk from wannabees. If you think for one nanosecond that our captain would leave then you know nothing of football and nothing of the man

Ranners - sshhhh, the last time I dared suggest Terry had too much influence at Stamford Bridge I was almost lynched :) If I'm honest, I haven't supported Ancelotti's appointment but if he's going to come in and kick arse with a no-nonsense approach that leaves the players in no doubt who's in charge then I can't see it doing them any harm. Between Mourinho leaving and Hiddink's brief spell, I really do think the players' boundaries were blurred.

And my boy, who has the misfortune to live in Dippertown temporarily, says the scousers hate Stevie Me for that, they only have respect for Carragher. You do wonder if JT has too much power st CFC, maybe that's why Carlo is reported as having told him to put up or shut up.

The fact that he could even be considering it might not go down too well with the Chelsea faithful. Reminiscent of Stevie Me a few seasons back really - and Terry is after all 'Mr Chelsea'. Trouble is, supporters trust these players loyalty far too much and at the end of the day, Terry can choose to leave if he wants to.
