Cudicini Confusion

There’s certainly been plenty of confusion over Carlo Cudicini this week, one minute we’re hearing he’s been sold to Spurs, although that story seemed to be a bit hasty because the next we heard was that the North London club were prepared to offer us £1million for him. Now though, almost inevitably, we’re told that Citeh want in on the act despite Luiz Felipe Scolari suggesting our 35 year old keeper is not for sale.

Cudicini, who signed a permanent contract with Chelsea in 2000 following his loan from Castel Di Sangro in 1999, has made 215 appearances although has spent the past five years as second choice keeper behind Petr Cech, starting only 25 league games since 2004.

Cudicini, who’s contract runs out in the summer, has already suggested he’s considering moving on when his contract expires in the summer, however, with only Hilario and Rhys Taylor as cover for Cech, it’s highly unlikely that move will take place this month.
