Borini To Get Champions League Chance?

I remember last season when Kakuta, Borini and Matic all came on as second half subs against Wolves. It was a great day. Not only did we win the game but it showed that Ancelotti was keeping faith in the reserves and youngsters.

Matic is currently on loan abroad but both Kakuta and Borini still remain at the club, listed in the first team. However recent reports are repeatedly linking Kakuta with a move away from Stamford Bridge, possibly back to France or even Germany.

Borini though, is a youngster not so often talked about. And why is that? Well, he is said to be recovering from a hernia operation but we could be seeing him making an appearance against Spartak Moscow.

The 19 year old Italian joined Chelsea three years ago from Bologna and was made key striker for the reserves two seasons back, topping the club charts with 10 goals in 11 appearances. Not too bad a record to be fair. And with Drogba believed to be missing Tuesday’s Russia encounter, there is every chance that Borini may get some minutes on the pitch for the Blues, especially after making the bench against Aston Villa along with fellow youngsters; Mellis, Bruma and McEachran.

Borini has been known for his lethal finishing in the reserves and hopefully he can carry this attribute into the first team.
