A week away from taking charge of Chelsea’s Champions League final, Roberto Di Matteo is going on a trip. Don’t worry though, as with everything else he’s done over the past couple of months, it’s all in Chelsea’s best interests.
Di Matteo is off to Berlin today to watch Bayern play Borussia Dortmund in the German Cup final in preparation for next week’s game and says “I’ve watched many Bayern games. I’m going to watch them on Saturday night in the German Cup final, I will analyse their pattern of play, and all that. I’ve seen them before. I’ve seen the two semi-finals and in the group stages, as well. I know the final’s in Munich, but the stadium will be half Bayern and half Chelsea. It’s a one-off game. We know how they play, home and away, so we’ll see.”
Since rumour has it the Chelsea interim manager has passed up the excitement of Easy Jet for a private jet, he should be safely back on the Stamford Bridge touchline against Blackburn Sunday.
