The two sides faced each other on Wednesday at Anfield in the Carabao Cup, with Eden Hazard’s stunning late goal sealing a 2-1 victory for the Blues.

Liverpool took the lead through Daniel Sturridge, but Emerson Palmieri’s close-range finish levelled things up.

Hazard settled the tie in the 85th minute, collecting the ball wide on the right before drifting into the box, nutmegging Alberto Moreno and firing an unstoppable shot into the net.

The two sides head into this weekend’s clash with just two points separating them in the Premier League.

Liverpool moved to the top of the table last Saturday with a 3-0 home victory over Southampton ñ Wesley Hoedt (OG), Joel Matip and Mohamed Salah were on the scoresheet for the Reds.

The Blues were held 0-0 at West Ham United the following day.

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri rested a few of his top stars for the midweek trip to Anfield, but he has a full squad to choose from for Saturday’s game.

Liverpool’s Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain remains sidelined through injury, while Divock Origi and Adam Lallana both face late fitness tests.

Chelsea have held the upper hand over Liverpool in recent times, losing just two of their last 15 meetings in all competitions.

The Blues drew 1-1 at Anfield in the league last season, before recording a 1-0 victory courtesy of Olivier Giroud’s goal in the reverse fixture towards the back end of the campaign.

That result meant Liverpool have only lost more Premier League games against Manchester United (28) than against Chelsea (20).

Since the turn of the Millennium, Saturday’s meeting will be the 57th between Chelsea and Liverpool in all competitions, making it the most played fixture between English sides in the 21st century.

The Reds will undoubtedly be eager to bounce back from Wednesday’s result, but the home side are fancied to end their unbeaten run this weekend.

Hazard has been in sparkling form for Chelsea this season and he can inspire them to an important victory at Stamford Bridge. The Blues are priced at 15/8 to come out on top this weekend and that looks excellent value.
