‘He should be sold’, some Chelsea fans are unimpressed with emerging teenage star

A section of the Chelsea supporters have urged the club to part ways with Callum Hudson-Odoi, given the teenager’s reluctance to commit his long-term future to the side. The England international has just 12 months remaining on his existing deal with the Blues and so far, he has shown little indication of extending his stay despite the change in management.

The 18-year-old made his debut with the west London side during the previous campaign, but he could not make his maiden Premier League start until March with ex-boss Maurizio Sarri reluctant to feature him. His season was soon curtailed by an Achilles tendon rupture, but he still ended with an impressive return of five goals and five assists from 23 appearances in all competitions.

The Blues have since witnessed a change in the head coach with Frank Lampard succeeding Sarri at the helm, but that has yet to convince the attacker into penning a new deal with the club. Amidst this, The Mail has claimed that Bayern Munich could make a renewed £45m bid for Hudson-Odoi to follow up the failed £35m approach in January, and few Blues fans believe the club are better off without their graduate.

Here are some of the reactions on Twitter…

Hudson-Odoi is presently going through the rehabilitation progress at the club’s Cobham training base and he is unlikely to return to action until a couple of months into the new league season. Lampard has recently urged Hudson-Odoi to prolong his contract with the Blues and it remains to be seen whether the club speed up the negotiations after the fresh round of interest from Bayern.
