‘Time for revenge’, many Chelsea fans says the same thing after League Cup fourth round draw

A large section of the Chelsea supporters want the Blues to take revenge on Manchester United during the fourth round of the League Cup next month.

The Blues progressed from the third round of the Cup competition in an easy manner as they secured a comfortable 7-1 home triumph over Grimsby Town on Wednesday night.

This has, however, resulted in a tricky draw against United at Stamford Bridge but the fans want nothing but revenge following the 4-0 loss at Old Trafford during the Premier League opener.

Here are some of the reactions which are quite similar….

Since the 4-0 loss at Old Trafford, the Blues have impressed in terms of the goalscoring and they have netted 19 goals when compared to United’s six in the past seven games across all competitions.

Still, the backline has remained a prime concern with no clean sheets this term and Frank Lampard needs to find a way of improving the defensive displays ahead of the fourth round tie.

Chelsea are scheduled to face Brighton & Hove Albion at home during Saturday’s league encounter. Lampard is likely to revert to the familiar lineup after rotating the entire 11 against Grimsby.

Kurt Zouma and Marcos Alonso could be the only players to keep their places for the weekend as they cover up for the absence of Andreas Christensen and Emerson, who recently picked up injuries.

Lampard has confirmed that Christensen could return in a short space of time but Emerson appears unlikely to make his comeback until mid-October after suffering a reoccurence of his thigh problem.
