Reports are suggesting the Blues are planning to bid for West Ham defender Issa Diop. The 23-year-old has been a regular starter for the Hammers following a £22m move from Toulouse during the summer of 2018.
The fee suggested is £40m. Although Chelsea have also been continually linked with bringing Bournemouth centre-back Nathan Ake back to Stamford Bridge for the same price.
In a Daily Express exclusive, Tony Banks claims the Blues have competition from Tottenham for the Frenchman’s signature.
The report also claims that Hammers boss David Moyes is not willing to sell. Diop has three-and-a-half-years left on his contract.
It appears the France under-21 international would be a direct replacement for Danish defender Andreas Christensen.
Sky Sports claim AC Milan are interested in taking the 23-year-old to Serie A. Christensen has found life difficult in West London thus season. Making x appearances, he is behind Antonio Rudiger, Kurt Zouma, and Fikayo Tomori in the pecking order.
