‘Of course you miss him’ – Frank Lampard on Christian Pulisic return

Christian Pulisic has not figured since New Year Day, after sustaining thigh injury in training. It was hoped the American would have been available for the weekends trip to Leicester, but alas the thigh problem kept him out once again.

Chelsea now have a period of two-week until their next fixture, a vital home clash against Manchester United. A good break for Pulisic to regain full fitness.

Blues boss, Frank Lampard, has now given a further update. Reported by the clubs official app 5th Stand, the club legend spoke of hope that the USA international will return to action in the near future, he said:

“We tried to get him out there last week, step it up a little bit, but we had to pull out of that”

Lampard also spoke of the difference the 21-year-old can make. He added:

“OF course you miss him, he’s a quality player and he was having a really good patch pre-Christmas, of course we’ll be happy when he’s back”.

There’s no doubt Pulisic’s input has been missed. Callum Hudson-Odoi has stepped up, and even the seemingly frozen out Pedro has games under his belt. A return for the visit of Manchester United would be a real tonic. Espeically as Tottenham and Bayern Munich are coming up soon afterwards.

Adding to his six-goals this season during those fixtures would certainly endear him further to Chelsea fans. There is also a possibility that Ruben Loftus-Cheek will be in contention to return during the forthcoming period as well. Who needs the transfer hey?!
