Chelsea are continuing to be linked with a number of players, as the countdown to the summer transfer window gathers pace.
Yesterday the Daily Mail claimed a list of thirteen players are being looked at to help Frank Lampard mould a team to fight for silverware.
One name on that list is Everton forward Richarlson. The 22-year-old was linked with a £12m move to Stamford Bridge before he joined Watford in 2017.
Despite heading to Merseyside the following year, the rumour resurfaced this time last year. The Metro claimed the Toffees wanted £80m for his services. Despite the market inflating in recent years, it’s doubtful Chelsea would entertain paying that much.
Now it appears he could once again be on the Blues’ radar. During his season with the Hornets, the 22-year-old scored five-goals, adding five assists. His first season at Goodison Park saw a return of 14-goals, and two-assists. So far this campaign, the Brazilian has mustered up 10-goals, four-assists. Well on the way to beating his contribution last season.
Chelsea are looking for another attacking option to compete with Tammy Abraham. Richarlson is young, has experience of premier league football, and could offer a lot to Chelsea.
However, the price reported last year is likely to have risen as his fine form continues. Only last month, Barcelona had an £85m bid turned down, reported Sky Sports.
Other names on the list are the usual suspects. Time will tell as to whether the Richarlson rumour will gather pace again. After three-years of rumours, the Brazilian could end up turning out in Chelsea’s royal blue.
