Chelsea are closing in on completing a double raid on Eridiversie giants Ajax. Reports suggest a deal is verbally agreed for Hakim Ziyech to join Chelsea this summer.
Now another Ajax player is also on Chelsea’s radar, according to a report. Russia website Sport.ru, claim the Blues will go head to head with Liverpool for the signature of Quincy Promes.
The Dutchman returned to his homeland last summer from La Liga club, Sevilla for €20m. The 28-year-old has great speed, technique and an eye for goal. Since joining Ajax, he has 11-goals, in 18-appearances.
The report suggests Ajax would be willing to sell for £40m. To acquire two talents for a combined fee of around £80m, would be great business for Chelsea. Promes is very versatile, being capable of playing on either wing, or as an attacking-midfielder.
Liverpool would offer huge competition for Promes. However, if the Ziyech deal being as good as done is true, the Blues could steal on march on their rivals.
