Chelsea are interested in Inter Milan midfielder, Matias Vecino, according to an Italian source.
The Uraguayan is also wanted by Everton, claim Calciomercato.com. Inter are willing to sell the midfielder for a fee of around €25m.
Following a €24m move from Fiorentina in 2017, the 28-year-old has appeared 91-times for the Nezazurri, scoring 11-goals, and also has six-assists to his name.
During the January transfer window, Vecino looked on the verge of a move to Tottenham. Respected journalist, Alfredo Pedula claimed the Uruguay international was keen on a move to North-London, as part of the deal that took Christian Eriksen to the Serie A club.
Ultimately a deal was not sealed, but Inter are still looking to sell, as they aim to raise funds to reinvest into their squad.
I’m not sure the Blues are really in the market for an area where they are well stocked. N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho, and Ross Barkley are all fighting it out for a central midfield position.
Depending on what formation or system Lampard plays, you could also add Ruben Loftus-Cheek, and Mason Mount into the equation.
Vecino turns 29 next month. Although the fee is hardly expensive, Lampard is likely it be keener to continue to develope younger talent. Billy Gilmour has just been added officially to the first-team squad, and there is also the impressive Conor Gallagher, on loan at Swansea City.
