Chelsea or Tottenham could benefit from Luka Jovic Coronavirus row

Luke Jovic has landed himself in hot water after a row regarding coronavirus quarantine rules. The Serbian was allowed to fly home, despite Real Madrid ordering everyone involved in the club to self-isolate.

However, it appears that Jovic failed to adhere to rules in his homeland, an act that he has since apologised for. Real Madrid chiefs are believed to be unhappy with his actions, leading them to consider selling the 22-year-old during the next transfer window.

The Metro are reporting Jovic originally tried to blame others for his actions, blaming misinformation thinking rules in Serbia were the same as Spain. The former Benfica man is quoted as saying:

“I am very sorry that some people did not do their jobs professionally and did not give me instructions on how to behave regarding isolation. In Spain I was allowed to go to the pharmacy and the supermarket, which isn’t the case here.”

There is now the suggestion that Chelsea and Tottenham will seize on the opportunity to clinch a deal for the striker.

Life hasn’t been great since his move to La Liga. Appearances have been a problem during his time at the Bernabeu. As it stands, the Serbian has made 24-appearances in all competitions, mainly from the bench, scoring only twice.

A far cry from the 27-goals he scored last season whilst on loan with Eintract Frankfurt. The report suggests Chelsea could snap him up for £50m. The current situation leaves a big doubt on the window being open when planned, with leagues suspended until further notice.

If the opportunity does arise, Jovic would add an extra dimension to Chelsea’s attack. Fighting it out with Tammy Abraham for a starting place in Frank Lampard’s starting line-up.
